“Education has always been important to me. Prior to owning Mrs. Audrey’s Academic Achievement, I owned Mrs. Audrey’s Playgroups- an alternative to preschool. Then, I was a therapist and co-owned SherWin Therapeutic Recreation. We created and implemented specialized programs designed to meet the needs of families receiving services from social service agencies in the mental health community. I mainly worked with youth who experienced severe trauma.
Collectively, this led me to eventually combine my passion for education with my toolbox of skills to reach students. I started small, tutoring only a few students a week. As I saw the fruits of my labor manifest in students’ mastery of skills and their confidence building, I kept expanding my caseload…”
